Charis Mesaritakis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean, Greece. In 2012 he was awarded a competitive European post-doctoral fellowship (Marie Curie FP7-PEOPLE IEF) in the joint research facilities of Alcatel-Thales-Lucent in Paris-France, where he worked on devices for optical intra-satellite communications. He has actively participated as research engineer/associate in more than 10 EU-funded research programs (FP6-FP7-H2020) targeting excellence in cutting edge fields such as photonic neuromorphic computing, optical cyber-physical security, and next generation optical networks. Currently, he is serving as a technical manager for the EU funded H2020 NEoteRIC project, which targets the development of reconfigurable all-optical neural network schemes for ultra-fast signal processing, whereas he is also principal investigator in a competitive HFRI funded research project (NEBULA) focusing on photonic neuromorphic processors using photonic quantum dot devices. He is the author and co-author of more than 70 papers in highly cited peer reviewed international journals and conferences, three international book chapters, whereas he serves as a regular reviewer for IEEE, Springer, AIP and OSA.

Athanasios G. Kanatas, is a Professor at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus, Greece and Director of the Telecommunication Systems Laboratory. He has published more than 200 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is the author of 6 books in the field of wireless and satellite communications. He has been the technical manager of several European and National R&D projects. His current research interests include the development of new waveforms and digital techniques for next generation wireless systems; wireless channel characterization and modeling; antenna design and array beamforming for next generation wireless systems; V2V communications and cybersecurity issues for V2V communications. He has been a Senior Member of IEEE since 2002. In 1999, he was elected Chairman of the Communications Society of the Greek Section of IEEE. From 2013 to 2017, he has served as Dean of ICT School of the University of Piraeus, Greece.

Nektarios Moraitis received the Diploma, and the Ph.D. degrees, all in electrical and computer engineering, from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1998, and 2005, respectively. In 1997 he joined the Mobile Radiocommunications Laboratory of National Technical University of Athens and in 2014 he became a teaching and research associate (faculty staff), School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. He has involved in many research projects, including channel measurements, modeling, and characterization for wireless communication systems, and mobile satellite communication systems. He has also participated in European projects such as SatNEx I and II as well as in COST 273, 259, 2100 and IC0802 activities. Call for MSc Applicants for the academic year 2020-2021

The postgraduate program with title Modern Wireless Communications of the department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Peloponnese announces the third call for applicants for the academic year 2020-2021.

The program is of one (1) year duration and without fees (free-of-charge). It aims on the education and training of university, engineering and polytechnic graduates on wireless systems and next-generation networks. Graduates who will be accepted as postgraduate students should have a high-level background on relevant scientific fields, so as to be able to focus on 5G mobile communications technologies and gain not only theoretical, but also practical, experience by means of laboratory exercises. The program has been designed so as graduates to be easily absorbed by Greek and international telecommunications market. Moreover, it stands as an entryway to research.

In the program teach university professors by the department of Informatics and Telecommunications with remarkable research record and experience from industry who cover a wide spectrum of contemporary wireless communications (from transmission technology to mobile application development). Therefore, the program has a coherent and intense set of courses aiming to provide all required knowledge to students within an academic year.

The students selection will be based on criteria that have been publicly announced at the program website (see Selection Criteria). All interested applicants will find analytical information about teaching staff, the course guide, the application process, etc, at the master program website.

The application period begins on and closes on .
